The Dept. of Physical Sciences  along with Dept of Mathematics and Statistics,  keeping in mind the saying “Service to Mankind is Service to God”,  organized a community service on 2^nd August 2008 to ‘Sweekar Upkaar Ashray”.

Sweekar is located opposite to Jubilee bus station in Secunderabad. It is a non- commercial voluntary organization dedicated to serve the physically challenged. It also runs a school for mentally challenged children.

Students of both first and second year intermediate (MPC, MEC & BPC) contributed generously for the service. With the money collected, the class representatives purchased a set of snacks box, water bottle, and pencil box with pencils, eraser and sharpener for each student. They also bought sweets, snacks and chocolates for the children at Sweekar. Vikas Agarwal, a student of II MEC distributed plantains to all the children. 

The staff and the students reached the institution by 10.00 A.M. After brief introduction with the Principal of Sweekar,  Mrs.Maheswari, the students proceeded to the class-rooms. The students interacted with the students and distributed the gifts there. This was followed by a brief visit to the various departments and activities of Sweekar. 

The day ended with a sense of satisfaction for the  members of the staff who had accompanied the students. They  also resolved to visit more of such organisations in the future.
