Nutritional Biochemistry is one of the academic foundations that make up nutritional sciences, a discipline that encompasses the knowledge of nutrients and other food components with emphasis on their range of function and influence on human physiology, health, and behavior.
In lieu of the same the Department of Biochemistry has organized a field trip to NIN (National Institute if Nutrition), a pioneer organization in the field of nutrition where students had a opportunity to visit the NIN Museum which depicted the inception of the Organization and it served as an important teaching tool which highlighted different aspects of food and nutrition.
There was an interactive session by Dr.Shiva Prakesh, Assistant Director, Scientist –D, who emphasized and advised the students to consume healthy and intelligent diet. He then elaborated the role of Probiotics and their uses. He also encouraged the students to take up projects which would be beneficial for them in their future endeavors.
