Guest Lecture on Taxation
The Department of commerce has organized a guest lecture on Taxation on 17th on August, 2011 on the topic “Practical Application of Taxation”. Dr. A. Patrick, Asst. Professor in Commerce & Additional controller of Examination, Osmania University, was invited as the resource person to enlighten the students with his rich experience in practical applications in taxation.The speaker started with the significance of education, elaborated on the scope of B Com course and insisted that the students must learn and understand the subject in practical aspects. He also gave practical examples related to Chartered Financial Planner.He discussed the importance of Taxation in Economy, opportunity of Tax as a subject, and tax planner and tax consultant as career options. He also gave a few websites which are of immense use for the students. The session was very informative and the students enthusiastically came forward to clarify their doubts and expressed their gratitude to the speaker for the time and information which he had shared with them. Finally, the speaker expressed that he was very impressed with the students and also with the initiatives taken by the institution such as the practice of closed gate system, insistence on punctuality and he was all praise for the modern state of art college infrastructure.
