Corruption is the greatest obstacle. It distorts the rules of law, weakens a nation’s foundation and severely affects the poor who are already the most disadvantaged members of the society. It is important to go beyond the symptoms’ of corruption to tackle it in a sustainable manner in this regard the Department of Commerce with an objective to create awareness and enlighten the students with regard to the ill-effects & dangers of corruption, observed ‘Anti-corruption day ‘on 09th of December, 2010. The main motto of observing the Anti-Corruption day was to being about a significant change in the society contributed by the persevering and determined efforts of the youth.
On account of this General Discussion Sessions were conducted wherein the students opined their views and expressed that it is difficult to eradicate corruption but a few came forward and decided that they can contribute from their side by not taking bribes which might reduce the problem to a little extent and a poster making competition was held in the campus on the topic Corruption- The darker side of India. A good number of students came forward to participate in the poster making competition. Some of the teams gave very apt and illustrative examples along with the good pictures depicting the evils of corruption in the country. It was a good achievement wherein the students shared their views and exhibited their talents in the poster making competition.
Later the judgment was done by Mr.Rama Rao wherein he declared winners of the competition: I prize winner - Vipul Shah from I B.Com B, II prize winner - P. Abhishek from
II B.Com E. The event came to an end by activating and motivating students against corruption and to build a corrupt free society.
