As a part of the extension activities the Department of Commerce visited IBS (ICFAI BUSINESS SCHOOL) on 23rd Sept, 2010 on a field visit along with the B.Com final year students. All the students were asked to report at the college by sharp 8.50 A.M. thereby to start off to the B-School as it is located at a distance of 40 km from the city. The IBS is one of the reputed B-School in the twin cities offering the P.G. Program with a vast campus of 120 acres with a very excellent infrastructure as well as assured campus placement on the completion of the Masters program with a very good pay package.
The IBS had arranged for the transportation to reach their premises. The students started off from St.Mary’s college Yousufguda sharp at 9.30 A.M. and reached the IBS campus located at Shankerpally by 10.45 A.M.
They received a warm welcome by the crew of the IBS and immediately started off with the campus tour of the B-School. The students eagerly went to the campus and got to view the classrooms, Labs, Cafetaria, Library, Auditorium etc in the campus.
After the campus tour the students were taken to the auditorium to attend a session on “Personality Development” and tips - to attend an interview. The session started off at 11.30 A.M. and the resource person for the session was Mr.Ram Mohan Kota a very eminent and enthusiastic speaker who kept the entire audience glued to their seats. The resource person brief the students with various aspects in aiding them to groom their personality and the importance of refining their 3 V’s - Verbal, Vocal and Visual abilities. The students were highly impressed with the personality development session as a speaker cited them with several live and practical situations in day to day life.
After the session the students were provided lunch in the college cafeteria. Later all left from the IBS campus back to the college. It was a very informative and interesting affair. The students profusely thanked on going for field trip where by they were enlightened into the various aspects of job and career opportunities and gain tremendous awareness so as to go boldly and face the outside world confidently. |
