To acknowledge the achievements of the youth from enhancing peace to boosting the economic development of the country & the society as a whole, the Dept. of Commerce as a mark of recognition to the youth’s efforts & achievements, celebrated the “International youth day” in the campus on 12th August, 2010. The main objective to celebrate the International youth day is to provide an opportunity to increase awareness on important social issues of the youth and promote change & foster peace among the youth. The event took off with a welcome address given by Ananth Sagar from B.Com I Yr (Advt), followed by an insight into the celebrations of the International Youth Day from the time it has been officially recognized to be celebrated i.e from 12th August 2000 onwards. The theme for this year’s celebrations is “Dialogue and Mutual Understanding”. Ananth then gave away the dais to the skit team. The entire crowd in the theatrix cheered for the participants of the skit viz “Munna Bhai – Job less” enacted by the members of the CAMY. It was a very well scripted & enacted play conveying the message to the youth about their responsibilities & duties to be fulfilled. It was with a dash of humour showing how the youth of today though very intelligent and proactive, is carefree, careless & shies away from its duties. The skit left a lasting impression on the minds of the audience and was very touching towards the end conveying its message – “Shed all inhibitions & take charge – BE THE YOU IN YOUTH”. The members who took part in the skit are: Nisaruddin, Naaz Gulabi, Palak Paresh, Himanshu Agarwal, Vineet.D.Shah, Chetan Hitendra Desia and the narration of the skit was done by Shradda pandey.
The audiences were highly impressed by the skit, which was then followed by the “EXTEMPORE” program. Here the participants were called upon the dais and were asked to speak for one minute on the topics given to them on the spot. Various questions were asked to the participants about issues related to youth & they were supposed to opine their views on the topics |
