Profile of HCHW: The Hyderabad Council of Human Welfare situated near Golconda, is an independent and secular Non-Profit Organization dedicated to the cause of poor and downtrodden. It was established on the 2nd of October 1990 by a group of professionally trained and highly dedicated social workers. The HCHW mainly work on issues like children on streets, education, rehabilitation of beggars and, empowerment of women, imparting vocational education and training to adolescents and HIV/AIDS. OBJECTIVE : The Department of Computer Science at St. Mary’s College organized a community service for the B.Sc I yr & II yr (MSCS/MECS), & B.Com I (A) students on 31st July 2010. The purpose of this visit is to inculcate social and moral values among the students. ACHIEVEMENT: About 50 students along with the members of Department visited the organization. Transportation was arranged by the department. Students contributed voluntarily and generously towards gifts like stationary items, study material, eatables, cloths & newspapers. They also distributed sweets to the children and celebrated birthday of the inmate, conducted games & cultural programs. The visit was very informative and encouraging for the students. The sincerity, guidance, commitment and devotion of the institute towards the needy children are highly commendable. |
