The Department of English conducted Group Discussion for students of both Intermediate and Degree classes, on 4^th of November at 1.30pm. Mr. Abhirama Krishna, Director, South State Business School oriented the participants with an informative power-point presentation on Group Discussion in the Theatrix. This was followed by the competition which was held in the Cafeteria. Two teams of thirteen participants each have taken part in the discussion. The topics, ‘Capital Punishment and Life Imprisonment’ and ‘Reforms in Education System’ were given on the spot. The judges were Mr. Ebenezer and Mrs. Ruchira Mitra from the Department of English.

The winning team, discussing ‘Capital Punishment and Life Imprisonment’, was very vocal about the issues. Their discussion was vigorous, healthy and lively. Aishanuddin initiated the discussion, coordinated it throughout and summarized the discussion at the end quite deftly. He led the discussion in a very efficient manner. His team mates Avakash, Yasseruddin and Krishna          also chipped in with their valuable points. The runners up team discussed ‘Reforms in Education System’ enthusiastically. Naresh stole the show with his communicative skill, insight and ability to stand by his view point.Overall it was a very impressive performance by the student.
