The Dept of English conducted a work shop on Communication skills for selected students who are weak in English from Commerce, Arts and Science streams on 3-9-11 from 9 to 10:30 a.m in English Lab as a part of their activity. About 40 students attended the workshop.
The resource person was Dr. Joseph from the dept of English. He focused on the effective communication skills. While doing so, he highlighted on verbal and non-verbal communication skills. He also dealt briefly about the LSRW skills and stressed on the importance of Listening skills. It was a very interactive session and the students were rapt in attention.
He concluded the work shop by showing a visual clipping on some common spelling errors found on the sign boards. It was thought provoking and a rich learning experience for the students. Most of the errors were so humorous and funny that the students burst into laughter.
