 Community Service 2011 |
| The members of the Department of English in collaboration with the departments of Mathematics, Political Science and Commerce visited Government School at Yousufguda, Tara foundation at Bowenpally and Durgabai Deshmukh Girls Hostel at Ameerpet respectively on 31st July, 2011 as a part of Community Service Programme.
Each member of the department of English gathered information about the requirements of the inmates before hand. The students were informed about the programme one week in advance and were asked to contribute in cash or in kind.The response was overwhelming and the students rendered their help in buying gifts according to the requirements of these places.
Sweets, Books and Stationary were distributed by the students in Tara Foundation, an orphanage for children. Pencil boxes and sweets were distributed in Govt. High school, a school for underprivileged at Yousufguda. Water Filter was gifted to the inmates of Durgabai Deshmukh Hostel, a home for orphaned girls located at Ameerpet.
The students were glad that they were able to help and bring joy in the lives of the underprivileged with little means. The students were transported to a different world for a change. This small gesture made them nurture the virtue of Compassion.
