The Department of Zoology had organized a field trip to ICRISAT on 29^thJuly, 2010. The trip started with a brief introduction by Mr. Ravi, who gave the students an insight on the functioning of ICRISAT.  

Mr. Ravi also imparted knowledge on how the genetically modified crops help mankind, especially in the semi-arid regions.  

The young aspirants were thrilled to see a few samples of genetically modified crop yields.  Students were interested in knowing the ongoing research on the five semi-arid tropic crops.  

They also learned about the pest control mechanisms which would prevent from the hindrance of the crop yield.   

Mr. Ravi encouraged the students to take up projects which would be useful for their career and in turn help the nation.
