To equip the students with latest in the field of Biochemistry, the Department has organized a two day workshop on DNA isolation, PCR, and Protein Purification in collaboration of Ventura Institute of Biosciences.  

The workshop commenced by a lecture delivered by Dr. Kalyan Chakvorthay on DNA isolation and its amplification which was interesting and quite informative. This was followed by the hands on practical training of the same. On the second day, students learned the techniques involved in Purification of Proteins. Dr. Ashwin elucidated on different methods involved and expelled his knowledge on Ion Exchange Chromatography. Students imbibed the subject with great interest. They mastered in handling the latest equipment like UV trans-illuminator, Electrophroretic unit etc. Later certificates were given to the students to acknowledge their participation.
