 The Department of English conducted Group Discussion for students of both Intermediate and Degree, on 22nd of November at 1.30pm in the Conference Hall.

A day before the event i.e. on 21st Nov, Ms. Olivia Lazarus and Ms. Nandita Kapur, oriented the participants on Group Discussion in Room no: 206. About fifty students attended the orientation after which they were divided into six groups of seven members each.  The students were allowed to choose from the wide range of given current topics. They chose topics like, Face Book- A boon or a bane? Corruption is the price we pay for Democracy, Environment –Whose responsibility? Advantages and disadvantages of having Small states, Are MNC’s superior to Indian companies? Kaun Banega Crorepathi- How it pays less attention to the knowledge and more attention money and the People’s personality?

 On 22nd all the six teams participated and competed enthusiastically giving the judges a tough task to select the best group. The judges were Mr. Ebenezer, Ms. Olivia Lazarus and Ms.Betty Aparna from the Department of English.

The winning team’s discussion on “Facebook- a boon or bane” was vigorous, healthy and lively. The runners up team discussed on “Corruption is the price we pay for Democracy” enthusiastically. The groups stole the show with their communicative skills, insight and ability to stand by their view point. Overall it was a very impressive performance by all the groups.
