The Department of Biochemistry observed the World Cancer Day on 17^th of August 2009.   The Programme was started by a introductory note to cancer by Mukesh Jain of II B.Sc. and this was followed by a PPT on how good genes turn bad given by V.Aarthi II B.Sc.    Then, there were presentations on Skin cancer given by P. Gokul and YPC Vijay of II B.Sc. and Lung cancer, given by Arun of III B. Sc about how they are caused, what is the treatment given and how to protect ourselves from these harmful viruses invading us.   By these presentations the students were equipped with the knowledge regarding some basic preventive measures to be taken to avoid Cancer.
