The Department of Biochemistry has organized a workshop in collaboration with National Biotech Association for Students on 18^th November 2009 on Drug Designing and the process of formulation of the Drugs.

 

The programme was started with the Lighting of the Lamp by Ms. Mary Reddy, Secretary, St. Mary’s College, followed by the inauguration of NBAS by the Mr. B Mahender Reddy, Director, St. Mary’s college. 

 

An introductory note to NBAS was delivered by Ms. Deepthi Priya. Dr. T. Rabbi Puthiran Principal St.Marys College briefed with the profile of the college for the students of other college.

 

The workshop was started with an interesting lecture on bioinformatics by Mr. Akash Ranjan, Head of Computational and functional Genomics lab, CDFD, was very informative and enlightening.   He emphasized on the Human Genome Project and the formulation of personalized drugs for the betterment of mankind. Valedictory was organized to mark the end of the workshop and certificate were distributed to the participants to acknowledge their presence and was followed by vote of thanks by Mr. Giridhar, President, South Indian Biotech AP Culture.
