The department of Biotechnology organized a 2 days workshop on Protein Isolation and PCR Techniques on 17th and 18th   September, 2010. All the students of Bsc (Biotechnology) 1^st ‚2^nd & final year attended the workshop where the students had hands on practical training on isolation of DNA from E. coli bacterium‚ PCR techniques  dialysis‚ electrophoresis‚ column chromatography‚ isolation of catalyses from goat liver and they amplified the DNA from the bacteria by using PCR‚ by using electrophoresis and certain probes separated the DNA and visualized the DNA using spectrophotometry. The workshop was conducted by “VENTURA BIOSCIENCES PVT LTD”. The resource persons were Dr. Kalyan and Dr. Ashwin who lead the team. Our students have gained maximum benefits from this workshop. This workshop was very useful from the practical point of view for the students.
