Guest Lecture on Public Relations

As part of the extension activities of the college, the Department organizes Guest Lectures frequently by inviting academicians or personalities from the Industry. The purpose of these lectures is to enrich the students with latest information pertaining to the subjects of their study and to develop Industry- Institution interface. In this regard Guest Lecture for the academic year 2011 – 2012 was held on 16th Sept, for the students of II & III year B.Com (Advertising) on the topic “ Public Relations” The Resource Person was Mr. Shanthanu Gosh, Dean, South State Business School.
The speaker made sure that he had the attention of all the students by keeping the session interactive and interesting. With his rich knowledge, he delivered the Lecture in a very interesting manner, which could connect with each student present in the hall. He expressed clearly difference between Publicity and Public Relations by giving live examples of media and contacts with different people in the society. He quoted lively and suitable examples related to the topic.
