The department of Economics observed the ‘World Aids Day ‘ on the 1st of December, 2009.   In order to commemorate the day a case study of an AIDS affected victim was made. The case revealed that in spite of the ailment the victim was bold enough to secure an employment and was supporting both herself and her child. It was heart rending to learn the treatment meted out to the mother and the child  by the  in-laws, on the demise of the husband. Students also discussed the vital statistics related to the deadly disease. The statistics related to the country in general and the state in particular. The symptoms and the precautions were discussed at length.
