Purpose: The Department of Mass Communication arranged for this guest lecture keeping in view the needs of the II and III BA students to understand the current trends in the print and electronic media industry. The talk was also aimed at giving them information related to career opportunities in both print and electronic media.
Profile of the Speaker: Mr. P. Karthik is a well-known print and electronic media journalist from Hyderabad. He has worked with big media corporations like the Times of India, Sakshi TV, and more recently as the Features Editor for the South Indian film magazine South Scope. Mr. P. Karthik is currently working on launching a Hyderabad based youth magazine.
Achievement: The students were introduced to trends in the print and electronic media and the world of opportunities they offer for Mass Communication students. The talk was interspersed with facts about the print industry and personal anecdotes of the speaker. The students enjoyed the session and actively participated by asking questions and also sharing their observations. |
