As a part of the various activities conducted by the Department of Statistics, St. Mary’s college Yousufguda, a survey was carried out on the low rate of absenteeism among students of the college. It was a humble attempt of the department to assess and analyze the reasons as to why students attend or fail to attend classes. The objective of the survey was to work out on strategies to increase the attendance percentage based on the survey report.   The survey was conducted by the students of BSc (MSc/s) final year using a well prepared questionnaire.. They were divided into three teams and conducted the survey for BCom, BSc and BA second and final year students. It gave them a real experience in conducting live projects.  The project report was submitted to the principal for further use and implementation. After the approval of the principal it will be uploaded on the website.
