The department of Biochemistry organized a Guest lecture on 25^th of August, 2009. The lecture delivered by Dr. Rajya Laxmi, Director, Bioworld Research Technologies was very inspiring and motivating. It inspired them towards reaseach. She explained the concept of “Regenerative Medicine”- a mechanism which involves the repair of the damaged cells with the patient’s Stem Cells. It was interesting to know how the cells taken from one part can be transformed to different cells of the different parts. Students were fascinated to know that the stem cells can also be used in the Clone formation. Dr. Rajya Laxmi , imparted her knowledge towards the career prospects as a Stem Cell Researcher and extended to offer hands projects to the students.
