A National level PC assembling competition was conducted in St. Mary's College, Yousufguda, Hyderabad by IMC Terminus on 16th September, 2008 in the Theatrix. This competition is being held across the country in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad selecting only two colleges from each city. This is the first time ever that such a competition is being held in the college. St. Mary's College in one of the Best Colleges selected from Hyderabad by IMC TERMINUS, a Banglore based company for a competition of this nature. Normally this kind of competition is held for the students of Engineering Colleges only. St. Mary's is the only Degree College, participated among the 10 different colleges, which is a matter of pride for the department of computer science and the institution.
IMC Terminus is one of the countries leading marketing communication and relationship Management Company. .As part of student-industry initiative they organized national "Do it Yourself" (DIY) campaign amongst technically qualified students in India, urging them to take up PC assembly as a hobby and to use the knowledge gained therein to help expand IT literacy in India.
As part of the above program they visited our campus on 16th September 2008 .The program agenda included a workshop on PC assembly, corporate guest address to students, Contest,quiz and games.

120 students in 40 teams were registered for this event. Students from degree as well as intermediate were part of this. The corporate guest address was very informative as they gave a presentation on their newly launched products and addressed students queries.Later during the event their was a audio video presentation of system assembling which was a great help for the students for the final round.

The winning team completed the PC Assembling and made PC functioning in 26min 15 sec and the winners were from Ist MPC Prithvi Raj.K, Rohit .P.Reddy, Arjun.L.The winners were awarded with the cash prize of Rs.10000/-. All the participants were given Certificate of Participation and many other surprise gifs.
The Department of Computer Science is proud to host such a prestigeus event at National Level in our college campus which will encourage students to actively participate many more such events to showcase their talents.
