The first activity of the Dept. of Zoology was held on 1st of July, 2008, from 1:00 Pm to 2:30 Pm in the theatrix. Professor T. Naga Raju from the Department of Zoology, Osmania University, was the invited dignitary. Mr. Naga Raju spoke at length on the Physiology of Respiration in Animals.
Profile: Prof.T.Naga Raju is one of the senior faculty members of the dept.He has 25 yrs.of teaching and 30yrs of research experience. He published more than 40 National and International Journals. He is the principal investigator for DST, UGC, ICMR, DBT, funded projects. He is also a resource person for academic staff college, H.C.U; &O.U. Till today he guided six PhD’s. His area of research is Diabetic Cataract and Diabetic Retinopathy.
The purpose of this guest lecture is to make the students know in detail about the aspects of physiology of respiration in animals and also to make them aware of the general facts about respiration.
The students were enabled to understand the exact process of respiration in animals through a well organized power point presentation given by him. The students were very enthusiastic and listened with interest posing questions from time to time. Mr. Raju was patient with them and clarified all their doubts with equal zeal and enthusiasm. The guest lecture was arranged for B.Sc. final year (zoology) students. |
