Department of English alongwith department of Commerce, celebrated International Youth Day on 12.08.08 in the theatrix at 2:30 Pm. The welcome address was made by Dinesh Christopher of I BA Mass Comm. He focussed on the role of youth in the society and emphasised the fact that youth can be encouraged to become strong force to change the world for good. He also paid tributes to Swami Vivekanand whose birth anniversary was celebrated on 12.08.08. This was followed by a classical dance by Ms. Bhagyashree of I BSc. Biotech. Ms. Zoya of B.Com I D spoke briefly on the significance of the International Youth day and then the elocution competition followed. The topic was "The Role of Youth towards Society". There were ten participants and the First prize was won by Yaser of MEC II year and the Second prize was won by Keerthana B.Com I C class. There was short PPT and Mr. Karthik proposed the vote of thanks.
