The First Principal of the St. Mary's College was Mr. Mahender Reddy, a young enthusiatic Masters in Business Administration. He took over the reins of the college from his father and role model, Mr. B. Arogya Reddy.   As the Principal first and later as the Director of the college, this young dynamic visionary engineer with Masters in Business Administration brought in lot of changes in academics (teaching methodologies) and administration to make a difference to the lives of many aspiring students. BMR yearned to personally attend to the great and growing need for comprehensive and reliable information in the field academic. Initially he was perturbed at the general functioning of the colleges in the city that had languid approach towards the academic prospects and panorama. BMR desired to usher in changes that would revolutionize the existing system then. He strived to bestow quality education to the student community, extract their talents and show them the right direction. Sympathetic towards the needy, BMR encouraged and also sponsored many deserving candidates for higher education abroad, apart from sponsoring education to the less privileged through the NGOs. BMR endeared himself to the students - strict but indeed a friend!! Before long, BMR became the icon for the students. “An engineer of Modern Education”.  For the staff and the faculty, Mr. Reddy,  a competent, ubiquitous guiding force - constantly appreciating, encouraging, motivating and counseling the team. He values each employee and pays personal attention to every detail of his/her. He believes in team work  respects the diversity of each individual, recognizes the uniqueness and infinite potentiality in each and every one. He is also open constructive positive criticism.

Firmly believing and understanding the need of the youth BMR adapts to the changing society and is pro-active to the needs of the youth. He is the first Head in the twin cities to initiate a 2 day youth festival "PRERNA" way back in 1997. The concept and the objective of "Prerna"  the inter-collegiate fest, was to preserve and promote the talents  of the youth by bringing the students from different colleges under one roof to give them a common platform to showcase their talents and abilities. The twin city students recently witnessed an academic, literary and a cultural feast in prerna 2008.  Scores of other exceptional and commendable Academic and extracurricular events, seminars, workshops of International standards- attended by number of delegates from all over the world are the aspirations and initiatives of this brilliant, versatile personage. 

 

It is truly laudable that within 5 years of his taking over the charge, BMR changed the whole scenario of St. Mary's College. Under his efficient supervision and able management, the institution has made an incredible progress - the old college building was metamorphosed into a sophisticated one with the state of art facilities, which soon became the landmark - offering various courses at Intermediate and Undergraduate level to over 2000 students with a team of more than 100 members of teaching and non-teaching  staff and 16 Departments. Today the college is ISO Certified and NAAC accredited. 

 

Despite coming from a different field of education and professio in a short span BMR has carved a niche for himself. His hard work has established him today as the Director of the college with the right credentials and in no time gained popularity among the students, parents and the staff. This journey of 10 years, from being a Principal to being a Director has been a long struggle and a tough-memorable odyssey for this ever ardent, diligent and delirious youth.

Taking into consideration BMR's determination, dynamism and dexterity accompanied with strategic moves - he will definitely materialize his dreams - to widen the horizon of St. Mary's and to start undergraduate and post graduate courses in collaboration with International universities and take St. Mary's to a phenomenal and enviable position - A deemed University !! The 10 years of success has not made BMR complacent - he describes all his achievements and contributions as "a drop in the ocean"!! He firmly believes that learning is a never ending process!!!

For people who do not know BMR…..he is soft spoken, simplicity personified, highly ambitious, insightful and quite, determined - would sum up BMR's personality…. an inspiring, motivational speaker with a unique and entertaining style of delivery. A socialite - loves to mingle with people- maintains social relationship. He was the Chief- Coordinator for various college events- His meticulous way of planning and executing won him an award as the Best Organizer of the year 1994. A polyglot - can read and write English, French, German, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Loves cars and traveling (India, South Africa, Gulf, Europe, Us UK, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China etc. Related course work-Marketing Communications, Strategic Management, Management, Business Strategic Accounting, Finite Element Analysis, Theory of Machines, Design of Machine Elements, Production Technology, Automobile Engineering. BMR is appointed as the Director of Counselor for Washington University, US for the Undergraduates. BMR hates the word "Can't". For BMR planning is most important before taking up any work / project -has clear idea of his objectives, purpose and methods of achieving his goal. 

 

 With extensive experience, exposure and expertise in administration, armed with a strong conviction, an assertive BMR ventured out to start formulating profitable and productive national and international strategic business alliances to enhance his managerial skills.

An upcoming business tycoon brimming with new conceptions, an audacious, energetic entrepreneur, a "Multi-tasker", on a mission to master all the trades - besides keeping abreast with St. Mary's (BMR’s prized possession), he manages to juggle immaculately his other business commitments and responsibilities with equal zeal and zest. He is always focused on setting clear strategic priorities and ensuring efficient use of resources. BMR spent most of career managing national and international projects and teams in the area of planning, collecting, analyzing and managing statistics and other information key to policy making and implementation. His methodical approach and industrious nature is  impressive. His engineering background gives him an edge over other people.
