For the first time in the history of St. Mary's College the department of Sports organized an annual sports meet for the lecturers of St. Mary's College, Yousufguda on 19th January, 2009. Competitions in Cricket and Volleyball was conducted for the men folk of the college, and the ladies participated in the board game competitions like carroms and chess. They also participated in throwball, tennicoit and basketball shooting competition. Ms. Zubeida of Department of commerce won the first prize while Ms. Anju Prasad bagged the second prize in the shooting competition. The department of maths versus the department of english in carrom board competition saw the department of Math emerge as winners and english department ended as runner up. This event was a break for the lecturers fromt he hectic schedule and they thoroughly enjoyed participating in the sports events.
