Department of Statistics organized a visit to “SWEEKAAR - UPKAAR” situated at Upkaar Junction, Secunderabad, on 1st AUGUST, 2009 as a part of Community Service to inculcate social and moral values amongst the students.
“SWEEKAAR” is a non-profit, non-commercial voluntary organization registered under public society act rendering services to Mentally Challenged, Mentally Ill, Physically, Visually, Hearing Handicapped, Aged, Drug Addicts, Widows and Destitute for the past 32 years. These 32 years of dedicated service started by a group of different professionals joining together with a commitment and belief that these persons with disability are victims of fate, they should not be victims of our neglect. Students of BSc I, II and III years along with the members of Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Electronics visited the society. Transportation was sponsored by the students. Students contributed voluntarily. Gifts and other items like Pencil Boxes, Crayons and Sweets were also distributed. The visit was very much informative and encouraging for the students of our College. We really appreciate the sincerity, guidance and devotion of the institute towards the needy children. |
