Department of Commerce
Alumni Interaction 2011

Department of Commerce in collaboration with Placement Cell invited three Ex- students- Mr. Adithya Jain - Delloitte (Tax Department), Mr. Aditya Sridhar and Mr. Shafiqulla Khan – Franklin Templeton.from the class of 2010, who got placed in reputed organizations through Campus Placements, to interact with the present Final B.Com students, Each of them shared their experiences during the Selection process, G.D rounds, Interview round, the work culture in the organization, work pressure etc.

Aditya Jain emphasized on communication skills and the importance of gaining work experience before pursuing Management Studies in any reputed B-School. He also briefed the students about the tight work schedules and deadlines under which they work which ultimately teach them to withstand pressure and Time Management. Aditya's message to the students who have family businesses was very practical and logical. He advised them to work and gain some experience before taking over their parental business as it would help them to understand the competitive world better. Aditya Jain's family also owns a business which he will take over in years to come.

Shafiqullah Khan an employee-trainee at Franklin Templeton  emphasized on the knowledge of Concepts of Accounting apart from communication skills, if one is looking forward to a job on the finance side. He told the students to take part in all the activities of the college to improve their personality and defined broadly the criterias for getting selected from the ampus.

Aditya Sridhar who was a shy and a reserved kind of students in his college days spoke to the students about his own experience advised the students to work on their communication skills. He encouraged the students to take part in all the campus placements so as to gain experience.

All the three of them expressed their gratitude towards the College and the Placement Cell for providing them the opportunity to get well placed and even suggested the students to make use of the provision with the best of organizations coming to the college for Placements. The present students asked them a few questions on various aspects as to placements, importance of working, pay packages, further studies etc.,to which all the three of them answered  very diplomatically and professionally. It was a good experience for the students as peer counseling is always helpful, specially coming from their own friends who were on the same side as them, just a few months ago.
