The students were accompanied by Mrs. Madhavi, HOD, Department of Physics and Mrs.Sowjanya, Hod, Department of electronics. We were escorted into “the hall of missile technologies which contained models of various Indian built missile models on all sides.
The first part of presentation dealt with radar, seekers and missile acqusition and tracking. This included its importance, description, different types, and its LOS(line of sight) mechanism.
The intermediate part of the presentation gave us an insight of the functioning features and properties of various Indian built missiles such as NAG-III, Prithvi, Agni, Trishul and Akash. Each of these missile have different range and speed as well as different purpose. We were also informed about the aerodynamic properties of these missiles, and its behavior in different medicines like water, air, surface and space. Types of missiles included difference between Rockets and Missiles and types of targets as stationary and moving. The construction and testing of missiles included materials used in convention and strategic missiles, telemetry and telecommand.
At the end of the presentation, We were guided around the hall to observe the various missile models, followed by a visit of a missile park nearby where models of these missiles were built to scale. It was a memorable and informative trip and our students gained a lot of knowledge and insight into our weapons, which are used by our Armed Forces to keep us safe and protected from the enemies. |
