The Department of Statistics observed “World Literacy Day” on 8th of September, 2011. The students were encouraged to participate in a talk and chart making competition to bring awareness on the significance of literacy.
The topic for the talk was “Can Literacy make a difference?” and ‘Literacy’ for chart making. Both the topics were announced a day before the competition. The students participated enthusiastically in great number.
The Winner of chart making competition is Mr.Hruday (II BSc MSCs). By the end of the programme, the students became aware that every individual has to put in his/her effort to change the world with literacy and can make a huge difference.
