The Department of biochemistry has organized a Workshop on Medical Biochemistry and Instrumentation in collaboration with Bioglobal technologies. The workshop was intended to give an insight into the field of medical biochemistry and make the students Industry ready.   

The programme started with a prayer song followed by a power point presentation by Dr.Pradeep Naik who enlightened the students on how to be presentable to the patients. The session was followed by a hand on training on the procedure of drawing blood. 

The afternoon session started with a talk by Dr.Shashidharan who encouraged the students to take up projects conducted by the Global hospitals. This was followed by a practical demonstration on chemiluminiscence . The second day started off well by a brief, but enlightening speech by Dr.Ratnakar Shetty, Member of the Royal Society of London. The students were shown a demonstration on PCR, RT-PCR and ELISA. They were given an opportunity to perform some of these experiments themselves and thus getting a chance to use the advance equipment used in these techniques. The two day workshop ended with great satisfaction. This fabulous experience would help the students in the future to pursue Medical Biochemistry as their career.
