Students of B.com first year (General &Vocational) were taken for Industrial Trip to Metalika Steel Industry, Sanath Nagar, Hyderabad, on 11th Nov, 2011. The purpose was to show the students the organizational structure, material management and marketing management.
The students were first taken to the production unit to explain them about the material Management. They could see the process of producing house hold utensils and kitchen ware items. The process involves various stages like: cutting the sheets, molding, buffing, polishing, branding and packing. The supervisor explained them about the steps taken by them towards cost cutting and avoiding wastage to possible extent.
Then they were taken to the managerial executives where they discovered the different levels of management and organizational structure: four brothers are sharing the duties of different departments.
Then they experienced the jewelry and electronic appliances manufacturing process at their adjacent workshops.
Finally they were taken to the retail outlet where they were explained about the marketing strategies applied by them. The students enjoyed the visit and also bought some articles for themselves.
