The B.Com I Year Advertising students had a guest lecture on 9.11.11, by Mr. Shantanu Ghosh who is one of the Deans of South State Business School . He specializes at the subject ''MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS''
Mr. Shantanu Gosh gave a presentation on the use and the importance of the media in Marketing, its advent and transformation from the early 60's to the present time with special reference to television, radio and newspaper.
He emphasized on the importance of Media in the present generation, with the help of which we can do a lot of things - promote the products, services or a brand which are newly introduced in the market, it helps in the capturing of the market share of the particular product and it will also gain a lot of profits for the company.
He explained the students about the shift paradigm from print and media form to other forms like podcasts, vodcasts and even webcasts. So the significance of advertising is changing by leaps & bounds. Advantages of media are enormous. The Session was highly informative & engrossing with a wide range of examples. The speaker caught the rapt attention of the students with wide range of examples and made the session interactive by asking them questions and making them explain about their observations on the topic.
