On 15th September, the Department of English organized a guest lecture for Mass communication students on the topic ‘Why learn English?’ The college was privileged to have Mr. M.N.Raju, a senior lecturer in Govt. Degree College, Gajewal as the resource person. He has enlightened the students on the need and importance of English language.
He began the presentation by running through a few statistics showing students about the expansiveness of English and its global importance. Through various examples he demonstrated how English is comparatively easier language than any other language in the world. He gave some quick tips to acquire English skills and suggested many books and websites that would help the students to master the language.
In the interactive session at the end of the seminar, he encouraged the students to ask questions by giving a token of appreciation to all those who participated. In the end questionnaires were distributed to the students to help them analyze their level of proficiency in the language.
