 Poetry Writing Competition

The Department of English conducted Poetry Writing competition on 23rd of November 2011. The theme of the competition was “ROMANCE’ in memory of the Romantic poets like Wordsworth and Keats. Students penned poems on Love and Nature. There were 30 participants from both Intermediate and Degree sections. The lively and enthusiastic performance of the students filled the theatrix with grandeur.
Later during the day, there was Poetry Recitation followed by a play organized by the students of BA Mass Comm in the Theatrix. The students recited poems on John Keats heartily and expressively. The PPT presented by the students on the life of Keats was poignant and inspiring. B.Com and B.Sc students had the privilege to witness the programme.
The winners of the Poetry Writing Competition are as follows:
1) First prize: Surabhi Udas B.A Mass Com I Year
2) Second prize: Akshit David EAMCET II Year
3) Third prize: Peter Oguntala B.Sc MSCS I Year
