The Department of English organized three events on 20th Nov 2009 to mark the College Fest “ PRERNA- 2009”. There was an overwhelming response for all the three events. Along with the Department members, seven student volunteers helped the Department to organize the three events. The day was marked with the first event, “Just a Minute” with nineteen (19) participants from different colleges in the twin city. It was an individual event. The first prize was given to “Asmita” from St. Francis College and  the second prize  to “Parimala” from Bhavan’s College.

The second event of the day was “What’s the Good word”. It was a team event. There were  18 teams of three each  for the  from various colleges in the twin city.

The winners of the competition were 1. Komal Tiwari, 2. Savita Jawalge and 3. Nanita Manuri from St. George’s College. Runners of the same competition were 1. U. Ramakrishna Teja 2. R. Arun and 3.
Shoeb Ahmed Khan  from St. Mary’s College (Yousufguda).

The Last event of the day was “Poetry Recitation Competition”. There were 10 participants for the event. The first prize was given to “Shaila Iqbal” from St. George’s College and the second prize   to “Ashrita” from St. Francis College
