Agenda for the International Seminar
Seminar deliberations are divided into the following broad thematic areas:

Energy Security: Concept; Developed and Developing countries’ perspectives of securing energy; India’s policy of energy security

Global Energy Supplies: Potential and limitations; the supply-demanded equation; pricing mechanisms; political economy of energy business.

The Energy Players: Old and new energy actors; geo-politics of oil supplies; emerging energy consumers; competition for the non-renewable resources; private-public partnership; energy diplomacy: strategies and tactics; bilateral and multilateral mechanisms.

Threats to energy security: Traditional and non-traditional sources of threats; role of terrorism; maritime threats; global and national doctrines of securitization of energy transportation.

India’s energy security: Building an energy strategy; diversification of energy sources; alternative sources of energy; new exploration policy; nuclear energy; national policy towards securing energy; sources of installation and supply.

Papers are invited on any of the broad areas mentioned above. The paper should be accompanied by an abstract not more than 300 words and full paper not more than 4000 words. As the paper is for publication the contributors are requested to follow the standard style and format. It should be send via E Mail- energintsem@gmail.com before 31st October, 2008.
