Annual Events

Montage

In 2016, St. Mary’s College introduced its first annual short film festival, Montage. This festival focuses on the spirit of independent short filmmaking. Its mission is to encourage student filmmakers to portray their talents in narrative story-telling and aesthetic treatment of universal subjects of human importance. The festival serves as a platform for young minds to see, share and discuss how to tell powerful stories in the short-film format. Workshop sessions on story-telling in cinema are conducted in preparation for the festival.

Prerna

Prerna is the annual inter-collegiate literary and cultural festival, organized by St. Mary’s College. It remains one of the most popular college fests conducted in the twin cities. This festival is a platform that brings students of various colleges together and gives them an opportunity to interact with each other and showcase their talent while kindling a spirit of healthy and friendly competition. A wide range of events including cultural competitions are planned and conducted by the various departments of our college. This festival means fun for everyone with music, food, and entertainment.

Sci-Connect

A new entrant into the annual event, Sci-Connect started in 2018. This is an inter-college science fest, organized with a vision to celebrate science. It is a unique opportunity for our young minds to take science from the classrooms to the world outside. The event has proved to be a big hit. Students from about 20 colleges participate in the various competitions held. Activities as part of Sci-Connect include Spell B (a spelling completion exercise) for life science students, a treasure hunt for IT students, collage creation and many more.
