B. AROGYA REDDY
Chairman, St. Mary’s Educational Society
Arogya Reddy is a passionate educationist with over 40 years of educational experience, including building and nurturing educational institutions. A discerning individual who knew the intrinsic difference between mere education and quality education, Arogya Reddy founded St. Mary’s Educational Society in 1982, beginning with St. Mary’s Junior College, currently based at Basheer Bagh.
Arogya Reddy is the recipient of several awards for excellence as an educationist such as The Best Teacher Award, Best Principal – Junior College Award and the Award for Outstanding Services, among others. A post-graduate in English from Osmania University, he has played several roles in the field of education – as a school teacher, as a lecturer and as a principal, before venturing to be an entrepreneur in the field of Education by laying the foundation of St. Mary’s Education Society and the institutions under its auspices.
Y. MARY REDDY
Secretary and Correspondent, St. Mary’s Educational Society
A Telugu Pundit, Mary Reddy started her career as a school teacher in Telugu and went on to become a lecturer in Telugu. A devout Catholic with a profound sense of selfless service, she has been a mentor to the young staff of the institutions under St. Mary’s Educational Society. Always ready with a kind word and a willing shoulder to lean on, Mary Reddy is highly regarded by both the staff and students for her wise counsel. As the Secretary of the Society, she handles administrative and human resources functions.
B. Mahender Reddy
Group Director, St. Mary’s Educational Society
Mahender Reddy spearheads the St. Mary’s Educational Society as its Group Director, providing leadership and a progressive vision. A graduate in Mechanical Engineering and a post-graduate in Business Administration, Mahender Reddy has followed in the footsteps of his father, B. Arogya Reddy, to make education his life’s calling. Mahender Reddy has worked relentlessly to help St. Mary’s College make its mark in the educational sector of the state of Telangana. Under his leadership, St. Mary’s College has become one of the most sought after elite colleges in Hyderabad and has produced outstanding alumni in the fields of education, sports, cinema, business and politics.
True to his belief in prioritising academic excellence, he spends quality time nurturing students so that they are well-rounded and prepared to take on life and their respective careers after completing their education in all institutions under the auspices of St. Mary’s Educational Society. Mahender Reddy strongly believes that education only achieves its goal if, by the end of their academic journey, students are able to identify their life’s true calling and pursue it successfully.
Mahender Reddy is a part of several think tank initiatives in the field of education. He was a member of the Advisory Committee on Skill Development under The Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. He also was a part of the MLP-FICCI ARISE team that seeks to provide input to the legislators, governmental authorities and educational boards to enable them design policies with regard to safety in schools.
B. Chaitanya Reddy
Director, St. Mary’s Educational Society
Chaitanya Reddy is a graduate in Microbiology and a post graduate in business administration. And Ever since she joined St. Mary’s Educational Society, she has been at the forefront of planning and implementation of publicity and corporate communications and administration for all its institutions. With her keen eye for detail, she took on the responsibility of directing and managing the general administration of the Society and all the campuses of its institutions.
Chaitanya Reddy also spearheads all the initiatives at St. Mary’s Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to make education accessible to talented students from a poor financial background by providing scholarships to selected candidates. Keeping this mission in mind, Chaitanya Reddy ensures that children supported by the foundation are assisted in learning well. Chaitanya Reddy is actively involved in this process, right from the selection of students. She regularly meets faculty members to gauge the performance of the students and provides counselling sessions for children who need it. She also ensures that all NGOs who identify and nominate children for scholarships are held accountable through regular meetings and follow up.
J. Mathew George
Principal, St. Mary’s College, Yousufguda
J. Mathew George joined St Mary’s College as Principal in 2016. Prior to joining St. Mary’s College, he was an Associate Professor at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, and headed the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of the ICFAI (Deemed) University, Hyderabad. An economist by training, he is an alumnus of the University of Hyderabad and Madras Christian College. He is also an alumnus of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and has visited some of the top Universities in the US, including MIT, Harvard University, Langston University, University of California at San Diego, and New York State University. His areas of academic interest are spread over Education, Economics and Entrepreneurship. J. Mathew George is also a mentor to many start-up organisations in Hyderabad and is regularly invited to give guest lectures on entrepreneurship by many prestigious institutes and organisations such as IIMs, ISB and the T-Hub to name a few.
Group Head (HR) and Director, South State Business School
Abhirama Krishna holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Warangal and a PGDM from IIM, Bangalore. He has over 30 years of corporate experience across companies like HMT, NarneTulaman, Elecon Engineering Group of Companies, NIIT, Rocsys Technologies, Satyam Computer Services and Mahindra Satyam. He was the past president of the National HRD Network (NHRDN). Abhirama Krishna is also on the board of several engineering and management institutes. As Global Director at Satyam, he was responsible for developing a Global Leadership Pipeline at team, operational and strategic levels in more than 30 countries. He was one of the key architects responsible for Satyam winning the BEST Award and being ranked world No. 1 in Learning and Development by the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), now called Association for Talent Development (ATD), in 2007. His area of specialization includes Sales and Strategic Management, Business Consulting, Employee Engagement and Leadership.
Group Head (Finance and Strategy)
Adapa Gopalakrishna joined the infrastructural arm of St. Mary’s Educational Society as Chief Operating Officer and went on to head it as CEO before moving on to his role as Group Head (Finance and Strategy). He has a career spanning over 27 years, including seven years in the Indian Air Force, during which he acquired varied experience in overseeing operations, finance and administration. Having handled medium and large-scale industrial and commercial projects, he has vast experience in a cross-section of infrastructure and construction work including industrial, commercial, institutional, group housing and residential construction projects and telecom infrastructure projects. He has a keen understanding of finance, banking and business management and spearheads strategic planning and growth initiatives of St. Mary’s Educational Society. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and an MBA in Marketing.
